An integrated system combines induction-heated adhesive curing with robotic part handling and laser inspection to help process and inspect steel or aluminum doors, hoods, deck lids, and other automotive closures. The system replaces separate curing and inspection stations with a single robotic system. Parts are processed and inspected in body position using the same tooling. After parts are presented to the robot, the inductors are indexed into preliminary position and self-locate the part. The adhesive cures in 8 to 10 sec. After heating, the laser measures the completed assembly. Laser check is a simple go/no-go inspection, and tolerance is typically 0.7 mm.
