Russia-based Ural, an off-road truck maker, recently began out fitting 4 4, 6 6, and 8 8 trucks with lightweight copper-brass radiators.

CuproBraze copper-brass radiators are ready for mounting in Ural trucks and are robust enough to withstand the riggors of traveling over Russia's roughest backwoods terrain.

Russia-based Ural, an off-road truck maker, recently began out fitting 4 4, 6 6, and 8 8 trucks with lightweight copper-brass radiators. The radiators are made using the CuproBraze technology by Shaaz, Shadrinski, Russia. Unlike soldered copper-brass radiators, Cupro-Braze technology from International Copper Assoc. Inc., New York (cuprobraze.com), joins copper and brass alloys with filler metal that melts at relatively high brazing temperatures. This reportedly builds much stronger joints and more durable serpentine fins than alternatives, says Ural technical development manager Alexander Vedernikov.

To simplify assembly, Shaaz packages the radiator with CuproBraze charge-air coolers. All new models of Ural trucks that serve in Russian oil, forestry, and agricultural industries sport CuproBraze radiators and nearly all have similarly made charge air coolers.
