Live-update technology of Surfcam 2001 automatically updates Surfcam systems with new features or product releases via the Internet. Only Surfcam files that have been changed are updated. Improvements to the software include more material removal in a short amount of time and quick changes to toolpath parameters without repeating the steps needed to create them. The Loft Section Set of the Design Plus solid modeler lets users create an organized set of planes. The Constrains to Projected Edges feature holds sketched geometry to any component's edges so the new sketch maintains associations to the existing model's edges. A new Extract Entities function quickly references existing model edges to define new sketch geometry.
