The Series 7EC spring-set, electrically released caliper brake is for dynamic stopping, E-stop, and holding applications. The brake has a floating caliper, and the disc can mount directly to a driveshaft, bolt to a coupling hub, or fit to an extended shaft on a motor’s accessory end. The unit handles 500 to 5,000 lb-ft of torque and up to 10,000 surface fpm and can incorporate gradual stops for high inertia loads. An environmental/corrosion protection package meeting IEEE-45 requirements for marine/maritime applications is available.
