SCSI Interface PMCX

Sept. 2, 2004
The PMCX-SCSI,a high-performance dual-channel Ultra320 SCSI controller card, has both channels using paced transfers and doubletransition clocking.

These give it a throughput of up to 320 Mbytes/sec for a total bandwidth of 640 Mbps. There is no bottleneck because the front side of LSI's 53C1030 supports a PCIX bus interface with a maximum transfer rate of 1,066 Mbps. The 53C1030 uses ARM technology and LSI's Fusion-Message Passing Technology to offload processing from the system's CPU and provides an open-programming interface for developers. Software drivers are available for Windows NT/2000, Linux, and Solaris. The PMCX-SCSI's two Ultra320 ports are accessible from the front panel via a dual VHDCI connector configuration.
