New Product: Polycarbonate Films

Feb. 7, 2008
Two Lexan polycarbonate (PC) films, DMX 1HD00-112 and DMX 1HDA3-112, feature a proprietary layered construction, a 1H pencil hardness, easy formability, and highimpact resistance.

The films can be thermoformed to ≥35-mm draw depth, and lend themselves to insert mold decoration (IMD) graphics and printing. The highly polished films have consistent stress and cap-layer uniformity plus a thermoformable masking critical to meeting the demands of IMD print registration, multipass printing, and fabrication. These features let OEMs handle intricate designs and develop harder surfaces that resist impacts and scrapes. Salt water and isopropanol resistance, uniform coefficient of thermal expansion, and low yellowness index are other key features. Lexan DMX 1HD00-112 film is polished on both sides while Lexan DMX 1HDA3-112 film is polished on one side, matte on the other.
