Optical Analysis Now Inside Solidworks

Jan. 12, 2006
TracePro Bridge, a plug-in to SolidWorks, lets users include optical components, light sources, detectors, sensors, and optical effects and properties in SolidWorks CAD designs.

Doing so lets users analyze effects of light on sophisticated mechanical structures. Completed optomechanical models are then exported to TracePro for ray tracing and analysis. Users can assign and save optical properties to the CAD model. Anticipated release date: January 2006.
