Linear Synchronous Motor

Oct. 20, 2005
The QuickStick 100 linear synchronous motor joins the QuickStick 500 to handle smaller vehicles with shorter headway between vehicles for assembly automation and material-handling applications.

Each QuickStick is a 1-m linear motor with embedded position sensors and control software that connects end to end to create any length track. Vehicles hold a permanent-magnet array to let the QuickSticks propel, track, and control each vehicle independently. Built-in controls regulate speed, acceleration, direction, permissions to advance, and standard positioning within ±0.5 mm with ±0.05-mm repeatability. Vehicles are passive requiring no power or communication.
