There are seven Whistle models offering voltage and current levels from 1 A, 60 V to 5 A, 100-V continuous operation. The drive is designed for use with any type of sinusoidal or trapezoidal current control. It interfaces to brush dc, brushless PM, linear and/or voice-coil motors. Power is via an external 7.5 to 95-Vdc isolated power supply. A smart supply control algorithm lets the Whistle operate with a single power supply.
