TPE Bonds To Nylon

March 3, 2005
Versaflex OM 6100 Series of thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) bonds to most types of standard 6, 6/6, and other nylons, as well as glass-filled, heat-stabilized, lubricated, and impactmodified varieties.

The new grades, OM 6160 and OM 6175, offer 60 and 70 Shore-A hardness values, respectively, and are availablein black or natural versions. Additional properties of the OM 6100 Series are a soft-touch rubbery-feeling grip, dull matte finish, superior surface quality with no mold marks, and excellent colorability in natural grades. The TPEs are suitable for multishot (2K and two shot) overmolding as well as insert and multishot injection molding.
