STL Output Option Features File Fixing

Oct. 6, 2005
Delcam has added file fixing to the STL output option of its PS-Exchange on-line data translation service.

This ensures all major CAD systems can generate STL files that produce high-quality prototypes. The software now repairs most gaps in CAD models. For more serious errors such as missing surfaces, it produces a message summarizing the problem. The software also removes duplicate triangles and nodes, triangles with poor aspect ratios, intersecting triangles, and triangles having more than one other triangle sharing an edge.
