Meldin 7001 polyimide withstands 600°F temperatures and can also serve as an electrical and thermal insulator, is more ductile than ceramic, and retains mechanical properties at elevated temperatures. At 500°F, its tensile and flexural strengths are 5.5 and 7.0 kpsi, respectively. The thermoset polyimide comes in stock shapes that easily machine or can be custom molded.
