    Solid Tantalum Chip Capacitor

    Nov. 9, 2006
Tantalum capacitors (298D Micro Tan) with lead-free frames use face-down terminations for a smaller footprint.
    Staff

Capacitances range from 1 F at 16 V to 47 µF at 4 V in the 0603 and 0805 sizes. Capacitance tolerance is ±20%, voltage ratings from 4 to 16 WVDC, ESR is low and leakage values are 0.01 CV DC. They operate at temperatures from -55 to 85°C, and can be operated to 125°C with voltage derating. With lead-free and RoHS-compliant terminations, the capacitors are provided in 8-mm tape and reel packaging available per EIA-481-1 and reeling per the IEC 286 3.7-in. (178-mm) standard.
