Hydrodynamic Pressure Bearings

Nov. 17, 2005
The SD99HDPM Series of hydrodynamic pressure bearings are 30% lighter than conventional ball bearings and suit light applications such as compact fan motors, paper feeders in copying machines and printers, laptop computers, and micromotors.

Constructed of stacked petalshaped laminated aluminum-silicon alloy plates, the bearings are housed in stainless steel with a polyureathickened grease containing antioxidant and anticorrosion additives. The inner faces act as the bore of the assembled bearing. The bearings come in 1 to 6-mm IDs and offer a 6,000 to 20,000-rpm speed range.
