The A3982 is a bipolar stepper motor drive with DMOS outputs rated at 35 V and ±1.5 A (2 A peak).

The A3982 is a bipolar stepper motor drive with DMOS outputs rated at 35 V and ±1.5 A (2 A peak). Higher motor currents and reduced temperature rise come from low on resistance DMOS outputs and synchronous rectification. A simple two-wire step-and-direction interface in full or half-step modes control the 24-pin SOIC package. Power dissipation during PWM operation is improved with internal synchronous rectification-control circuitry. A fixed off-time output current regulator automatically selects slow or mixed-decay modes.
