Stainless-Steel Spring Wire

Oct. 21, 2004
Santex spring wire, developed from a general-purpose, austenitic AISI 302 stainless steel, has high fatigue resistance and low relaxation rates.

STAINLESS-STEEL SPRING WIRE

The ductile wire forms easily and has a good surface finish. Low-temperature heat treatment improves the wire's tensile strength and relaxation properties. A 1-hr temper typically increases tensile strength by 400 to 500 MPa. The wire is available in coated, bright, and nickel-coated forms with diameters from 0.2 to 1.5 mm.
