Mechanical Product: Cylindrical Roller Bearings

April 10, 2008
Logarithmically “crowned” rollers improve contact geometry between roller and raceway in cylindrical roller bearings.

The rollers also reduce stress under high loads, perform even under misaligned conditions, and promote cooler running for high-speed operation and longer bearing life. Precision-honed inner and outer ring, raceways, and rollers improve lubricant effectiveness.

The bearings come in single, double, and multiple-row designs that differ in the arrangement, design, and construction of retaining flanges. Depending on configuration, the flanges permit some thrust load capability. Available bore sizes are 25 to 1,000 mm.

Molded glass fiber-reinforced polyamide is the standard cage material and machined brass and pressed steel are options.
