Processors For Multithreading

The UltraSparc T1 processor with up to eight cores and four threads per core supports single and multithreaded high-end applications.

It comes in the company's SunFire T1000, T2000, and Sparc Enterprise computer systems. An advanced processor, Niagara 2, will be available in late 2007. It contains server functions, providing a "system on a chip." The processors run on Solaris, a free and open-source OS.
