PRO/E Models and DATA get Protection

Sept. 13, 2007
In an integration expected to be available with the next production release of Pro/Engineer, Adobe Life-Cycle Rights Management ES software will work with Pro/Engineer models and data to provide digital rights management (DRM).

This applies document security and management to models, as well as specification sheets and supporting design documents (in PDF, DOC, and XLS format), inside and outside the firewall. An engineer, for example, might let a foreign company read a document he sent but not copy or print it. Users can effectively manage documents with capabilities for controlling the access, auditing, and revocation of models even after they have been distributed. This ensures only intended recipients can open protected files and that files delete themselves on a specific date.
