Multiaxis Motion Controllers

June 7, 2006
Ensemble Epaq controllers handle up to six motion axes and can be daisy chained to three extra drives for commanding up to nine axes.

Users can mix and match drive types (linear versus PWM, brush or brushless, stepper, etc.) within the same positioning system, using a common programming and control platform. One Windows PC operates multiple controllers through Ethernet or USB. Standard interfaces include a joystick port, RS-232, Ethernet port, and USB 2.0 port. Standard on each axis of the I/O are a 16-bit ±10-Vdc analog input, dedicated home marker input, overtravel limits, Hall inputs for motor commutation, and E-stop input.
