Compact Hydra-Pneumatic Cylinders

April 13, 2006
New HyperCyl HZ Series hydra-pneumatic drive units produce high forces using ordinary shop air.

The units operate with a single pneumatic valve and shift to high-pressure mode without an approach stroke, saving space and reducing cycle times. Forces of 1 to 20 ton are possible, eliminating the cost and upkeep associated with hydraulic or mechanical alternatives. Standard strokes are 0.25 and 0.50 in. and, with steel construction, chromed and polished surfaces, and just two moving parts, the units require minimal maintenance. Typical applications include piercing, shearing, marking, coining, and forming.
