The MAH300 handheld bar-code reader is said to be the smallest and lightest full-featured bar-code reading terminal on the market today. It reads large linear and high-density matrix symbols with decoding speeds similar to linear bar-code decoding while preserving battery life. The reader features a 1.3-megapixel dual-field image collection engine, a 400-MHz AMD Alchemy, 1,100 CPU, and 4 Mbytes of nonvolatile memory. A lithium battery operates the device for 8 hr of intensive factory-floor use. For wireless communications, a 2.4-GHz radio is available and it is compatible with a wide range of Bluetooth systems. Range is 300 ft.
