New Product: Carbon-fiber belt

Oct. 11, 2007
New Poly Chain GT Carbon belt features a carbon- fiber tensile cord that provides high strength and dimensional stability, while reducing stretch on drive systems used in high-torque applications.

Horsepower capacities surpass those of standard roller chain in equivalent widths, especially in pitch sizes No. 35 to 140. Carbon-cord construction also provides more flexibility than aramid fiber reinforcement, thus allowing the use of backside idlers. The new belt-drive system is available in over 118,000 drive combinations that reportedly reduce power-transmissionsystem costs compared to high-maintenance roller-chain drives. The product uses existing Poly Chain GT2 sprockets, is available in 8 and 14-mm pitch sizes, and has a distinctive blue tooth color.
