How To Build Prototypes And Parts

July 12, 2007
The entry-level FDM 200mc rapidprototyping and manufacturing machine has an 8 x 8 x 12-in. build envelope.

The machine builds parts with 0.007 and 0.010-in. layers. A simple mode automates part production. An advanced mode lets users tweak parameters to change part mechanical properties. It also lets users pause when building to place inserts or change material colors. The FDM 200mc is intended to work with ABSplus, a new material that has better tensile, impact, flexural, and bonding strengths than standard ABS.
