New Product: Flexible miniature coupling

May 22, 2008
The Microflex Series FK flexible microcoupling is designed for micropumps and micromotors in the medical and biotech industries.

Composed of a flexible beam-cut polyamide element clamped to shafting with stainless-steel hubs and setscrews, standard-design microcouplings are balanced for up to 10,000 rpm. Low lateral spring stiffness lets the coupling absorb restoring forces on shaft bearings in slight misalignment, while maintaining backlash-free qualities at a torsional stiffness of 23 Ncm/rad. The hub’s design provides clearance for shaft burrs created by the 2-mm setscrew.

The microcoupling has 1.4-oz/in. nominal torque capacity and 2.8-oz/in. peak torque capacity. Standard bore diameter is 1.5 mm.
