Two-Part Epoxy Bonds Large Panels

Araldite AW 8545-1 resin and HW 8545-1 hardener combine to form a high-strength epoxy for bonding metal and composite skins to aluminum and aramid-fiber honeycomb cores.

The epoxy has a 2-hr work life, permitting use for large projects. It also has a low coefficient of thermal expansion, minimizing read-through from honeycomb cores to panel surfaces. The epoxy has a 1:1 mix ratio and a spreadable viscosity of 43,000 cP. Bonded panels can be handled after 24 hr at room temperature or 15 min after curing at 212F (100C). The epoxy's fully cured shear strength is 3,000 psi.
