Low-Viscosity UV-Curable Compound

May 19, 2005
A UV-curable compound gives fast, high-performance laminating, sealing, bonding, and casting.

The low-viscosity composition is an optically clear mobile liquid that cures upon exposure to UV light at ambient temperatures to a strong flexible solid. UV19 adheres to many different substrates including most plastics, glasses, and metal. Air does not inhibit the cure and there is minimal shrinkage. UV19 is resists water and many other aggressive chemicals. Its low viscosity of less than 300 cps at 75°F enhances its use for laminating, sealing, bonding, and coating applications. The compound's flexibility (over 100% elongation) and adhesive properties permit bonding, sealing, and laminating to substrates with widely different thermal expansion coefficients. Additional features of UV19 include tensile strength in excess of 800 psi, high impact strength, abrasion resistance, and heat stability.
