Ultralow-Power Oscillator

June 16, 2005
The LTC6906 programmable silicon oscillator sports an operating current of 18μat 100 kHz. The footprint is limited to the oscillator package and a single resistor.

No bypass capacitor is required. The oscillator can be programmed to any frequency between 10 kHz and 1 MHz. Clock startup after shutdown is 200μ sec. A user-settable divider reduces the master clock by a factor of 1, 2, or 4. The LTC6906 has a duty cycle of 50 ± 2.5% with very low jitter and frequency accuracy of 0.65% from 0 to 70°C. Operating temperature range is ?40 to 125°C.
