Motor-Control Center

April 26, 2007
The FlashGard motor-control center (MCC) helps prevent operator injury from electric shock and arc flash.

The MCC provides insulated buses and a maintenance switch that reduces time-available fault current. The unit also provides disconnects from the vertical bus with the door closed, which is critical for reducing severity of arc events. An optional remote-controlled racking device advances and retracts stabs — the metal connector "fingers" of plug-ins — from a distance of up to 25 ft.
