New Product: Measuring device

May 22, 2008
The AMS 200 Absolute Measuring System calculates distances for warehousing and gantry-crane positioning.

Speed monitoring reduces buffering costs up to 30% in high-bay warehouses, the company claims. The device sends a prefailure message that helps prevent or at least reduce downtime. Accuracy is ±3 mm over 200 m. By combining lasers with modern signal processors, users receive images of values for positioning control circuits. Profibus and SSI interfaces are standard. Interface for power, programmable I/O, and controls are via M12 connectors on the front panel. Heated versions can operate in temperatures as low as –30°C.
