New Products: 16-mm DC Micromotors

July 24, 2008
The EC16 brushless dc motor measures 16 × 56 mm, is rated to 40 W, and has a 0 to 60,000-rpm speed range.

Lower speeds and a corresponding high torque are possible using a planetary gear. The unit is designed to separate the control and main magnets. This protects the electronic commutation Hall sensors from interference of the magnet and winding current.

Advantages of the motor include high efficiency, no cogging, and the large linear speed/torque gradient. maxon precision motors Inc., 101
