Plastic Fasteners For Plating And Chemical Processing
Custom polyetheretherketone (PEEK) fasteners are now available for plating and chemical-processing applications. Perpl-CP fasteners are electrically insulative with good mechanical strength and corrosion resistance.
Fastener designs range from standard UNC and metric configurations with traditional heads, to customized designs for unique applications. The mechanical properties of the PEEKbased fasteners reportedly exceed those of traditional nonmetallic fasteners such as nylon (i.e., 57% increase in fastener tensile strength with values exceeding 12,000 lb/in.2).
