3.3-V Optical Encoder

Feb. 22, 2007
The RCML15 optical encoder that provides signals for brushless motor commutation can now be powered by a 3.3-Vdc source.

Encoder frequency response reaches 500 kHz, and maximum is 40-mv pk-pk. It also features a slide/gap mechanism for easy installation and maximum performance, and the encoder rotates ±20° to align commutation signals with motor poles. It is available in resolutions up to 4,096 and provides commutation for four, six, eight, and 10-pole brushless motors. The RCML15 meets all NEMA ICS-16 requirements.
