3D CAD Targets 2D Users

April 27, 2006
Solid Edge V18 3D CAD software targets users migrating from 2D CAD.

Users can develop electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and other diagrams using industry-standard libraries of 2D blocks. For example, users can place DWG blocks into V18 diagrams on-the-fly without translation. Users can also develop their own standards. The software's features, which make it easier to create and edit diagrams, include intelligent connectors and lines that "snap" to specific points on a block and remain attached when blocks are moved or diagrams edited.
