Industrial Ethernet For RS-232

Sept. 16, 2004
The FL-COM Server RS-232 interface is a device server that adapts RS-232 serial devices to industrial Ethernet networks.

It is designed to easily integrate virtually any RS-232 device onto a 10/100BaseT Ethernet network, thus allowing access to any device with a serial port. The advantages of networked serial devices include access to and control via the LAN, WAN, and Internet without network upgrades. The server incorporates industrial features such as a widerange dc power supply, DIN-rail mounting, three-way isolation, surge protection, and redundant power-supply capabilities. It supports industrial protocols such as Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP, and TCP/IP. Setup is through an ordinary Web browser. The server also includes free communication port redirector software that allows Ethernet access to serial devices on the network as if they were connected to the local COM ports on a PC.
