Simulation Software Gets 64-Bit Performance

May 11, 2006
Simulations in 64 bit are now possible with Comsol Multiphysics 3.2a.

The 64-bit capability allows increasing model size by orders of magnitudes. A companion product, Comsol Script, lets user program in an object-oriented language to create custom data structures and operations. Electromagnetic Module 3.2a allows simulating arbitrary waveforms for applications such as the start-up of a motor or the response of a circuit to pulses. The module includes capabilities for modeling electromagnetic fields and ac and dc components. Higher-order vector elements let the software calculate more accurate solutions for electromagnetic wave simulations.
