Laser Alignment Tool

Sept. 16, 2004
The 2-Axis Microgage Alignment Kit can be used on a production floor to check roll and web lines, CNC cutting and milling tools, injection-molding machines, and similar equipment.

It combines a compact laser transmitter with a digital receiver and display. The display reads out motion to accuracies of 0.001 in. as the laser movers across the receiver vertically or horizontally. The kit includes a swiveling base for the laser to check the flatness of rolls, linear stages, and other flat surfaces. A 90 laser-beam bender forms a right angle with the laser beam for checking machine-tool alignment, adjusting mechanical actuators, and so forth. The instrument operates over 60 ft and works on batteries. Components are machined aluminum with an anodized coating for wear resistance. Measurement data can upload to a PC.
