ICs For Electricity Meters

Nov. 9, 2006
The ADE7100 and ADE7500 single-chip IC families target electrical-power-meter applications.

According to the company, the devices have intelligent battery modes that let meters maintain the time, sense temperature changes, and run the LCD readout while using at least 40% less power than other systems. The devices allow such services as remote-meter reading and time-of-use billing.
