Double-Sheet Detector

Feb. 23, 2006
These ultrasonic thru-beam sensors identify misfeeds of different media including paper, cardboard, thin plastic, and foil.

The sensors teach mode includes a material-thickness adjustment to detect zero, one, or two sheets of material from 10 to 2,000 gm/m2. The ultrasonic beam is insensitive to printing, colors, and glossy surfaces while changes in ambient conditions are compensated automatically. The 18-mm-diameter detector is rated for IP67.
