Amplifier Powers Ultrasonic Transducer

Feb. 17, 2005
This power-amplifier pair drives piezo and ultrasonic transducers for industrial and medical applications.

The MP111 controls a pulsed 50-A output current on a 100-V single-ended supply and 500-kHz bandwidth. The MP108 controls a 10-A continuous-output current on a 200-V single-ended supply and 300-kHz bandwidth. The MP111 dissipates 170 W while the MP108 offers a 170 V/ sec slew rate. Target applications include industrial inkjet printers and ultrasonic transducers in medical, surgical, and cleaning systems.
