Wear-Resistant Plastic for Bearings, Bushings, and Wear Rings

May 5, 2005
ARHT, a proprietary thermoplastic, can replace rubber, bronze, and ceramic in pump bearings, bushings, and wear pads.

It withstands abrasive media at temperatures to 250°F (121°C) and can let pumps run dry intermittently, helping improve-service life. The material is available in 8-in.-long billets with 1 to 33-in. diameters.
