Cam-Action Switches

Sept. 16, 2004
Cam-Action Rotary Switches have continuous ratings ranging from 20 to 800 A at 600 V, with up to 12 positions and up to 24 poles.

They typically handle motor loads and feature double-break, silveralloy contacts enclosed in rigid thermoset plastic housings. Preconfigured application-specific models include voltmeter transfer switches, ammeter transfer switches, motor starting switches, motor reversing switches, and heater-control switching. Switching action is controlled by the shape of the cams, allowing nearly infinite combinations using standard parts. Most models come with base, door, waterproof, single-hole, two-hole, or four-hole mount. Other options include key interlock, key operation, spring return, gear-driven operation, and padlock compatibility.
