BC40 Tru Temp finishing system forms a corrosion-resistant, nondimensional, black magnetite finish that meets MIL-C-13924C, Class-1 requirements on iron or nonstainless-steel parts

The BC40 Tru Temp finishing system forms a corrosion-resistant, nondimensional, black magnetite finish that meets MIL-C-13924C, Class-1 requirements on iron or nonstainless-steel parts. The process uses two-stage oxidation at 200°F and creates a corrosion- resistant satin-black finish. Process turnaround time is 25 min, with throughputs of up to 2,000 lb/shift.

The finishing system is set up in seven 16 × 24 × 24-in. tanks for a total footprint of 3 × 15 ft. Tanks are epoxypainted, 10-gauge welded steel or 0.5-in.-thick welded polypropylene. The low temperature prevents boilover and process chemicals are not EPA regulated.
