Hydraulic and Pneumatic Valves: Electrohydraulic Brake Valve

April 7, 2009
The S12 Series Electrohydraulic Brake Valve (EBV) provides more than triple the flow capacity of traditional EBVs

The S12 Series Electrohydraulic Brake Valve (EBV) provides more than triple the flow capacity of traditional EBVs. It can replace two standard EBVs in large, springapplied, hydraulicrelease brake applications, or an EBV and relay valve. An autorelieving feature gets more travel and flow capacity out of the proportional solenoid valve. The brake valve handles high flows by using a high-force solenoid combined with a precision fit spool and housing that minimizes leakage and maximizes contaminant resistance.

The S12 uses cross-hole metering setup of the company’s standard EBV. A longer spool incorporates a second flow path that runs parallel to the standard path for a higher flow capacity from brake to tank.
