The EZ-SCREEN family of safety light screens now includes low-profile models that feature the first and last beams positioned at the ends of the light screen. The LED position provides continuous detection along the entire light screen length and eliminates the dead zones found on traditional safety light curtains. The housing is 28 × 26 mm and comes in 14 or 25-mm-resolution models over areas from 270 to 1,810 mm. Normal detection ranges up to 7 m with excellent excess gain. Housings can be either nickel plated for ESD-safe applications, clear anodized aluminum, or a “safety” yellow powder-coat housing. Additional mounting options include a universal adapter bracket for mounting to slotted framing, inside a tubular framing such as a P1000 Unistrut, and fixed or pivoting angle brackets for installation of cascade sensors. Blocked beams are identified using zone indicators, and a seven-segment display shows diagnostic information and number of blocked beams. The unit exceeds OSHA/ANSI Control Reliability requirements, certified to cULus NIPF, and CE certified to Type 4, Category 4 PLe and SIL 3.
