Miniature Single and Dual-Channel Incremental Encoders

Sept. 8, 2009
Designated as the OPE1275 singlechannel (tachometer) and OPE2275 dual-channel encoders, these analog output encoders are designed for small-shaft motors with a shaft diameter of 2 mm (0.079 in.) and a minimum length of 3.8 mm (0.150 in.)

Designated as the OPE1275 singlechannel (tachometer) and OPE2275 dual-channel encoders, these analog output encoders are designed for small-shaft motors with a shaft diameter of 2 mm (0.079 in.) and a minimum length of 3.8 mm (0.150 in.). The encoders feature 256 pulses/rev, with a maximum speed of 5,000 rpm. The OPE1275 encoder provides a single-channel analog output for speed of rotation, while the OPE2275 device provides a dual-channel quadratureencoded analog output for speed and direction of rotation. Electrical connection is via a four-pin Molex 53048-0410 connector providing V+, ground, and output pins. The mating connector is a four-pin Molex 51021- 0400 (terminal pin 50058 or 50079) or equivalent. Frequency response ranges from dc to 25 kHz, providing a maximum of 256 cycles/rev and 1,024 pulses/ rev (PPR). Typical rise and fall times are 500 nsec and 100 nsec, respectively. Supply voltage (Vcc) is 5 Vdc, while supply current (Icc) is 21 mA. Operating temperature ranges from 0 to 85°C.
