SmartCAM v17.0 for CNC milling includes improvements in solid pocketing and Z-axis roughing.

SmartCAM v17.0 for CNC milling includes improvements in solid pocketing and Z-axis roughing. Users define roughing regions by part feature and type of stock. The software knows when to switch roughing strategies, for example, by spiral-cutting cavities and cutting cores differently. In addition, the software supports machining open profiles with uni or bidirectional passes. A new HTML-based report generator includes job header, tooling, process steps, and part graphic images.
