    ODVA's industrial ethernet events

    May 22, 2008
ODVA is holding a range of seminars and training events focused on EtherNet/IP™, the industrial Ethernet solution that ODVA supports.

ODVA is holding a range of seminars and training events focused on EtherNet/IP™, the industrial Ethernet solution that ODVA supports. Each one-day event will provide considerable technical training on EtherNet/IP and the Common Industrial Protocol (CIP™) on which it is built. I’m writing today to personally invite you to join us for any of these activities that you would find value in attending.

Coming to three additional North American locations this year is the “EtherNet/IP: Proven and Complete” informational seminar. This one-day seminar is designed for potential users and vendors of EtherNet/IP products and networks, providing attendees with the technical details and the value to industry of CIP and EtherNet/IP, including information on its extensions for safety and motion, and the ability to integrate Modbus® devices into the CIP architecture, as well as a primer on the basics of industrial Ethernet.

Upcoming dates and locations in North America include:

    • Nashville, TN, USA: July 24
    • Toronto, ON, Canada: August 7
    • Charlotte, NC, USA: October 23

In addition, ODVA has launched a training course for new EtherNet/IP developers. “EtherNet/IP Quick Start” helps developers accelerate their know-how to get started with EtherNet/IP product development. The one-day training covers considerations of product functionality, implementation approaches, product design, and testing, plus gives an in-depth review of The EtherNet/IP Specification. The next scheduled “EtherNet/IP Quick Start” will be held on July 29 in Chicago.

If you have any questions, would like more information, or are interested in attending, please contact me. I would be pleased to help and delighted to personally welcome you to any of these events.

    Best regards,
    Adrienne Meyer
