Nord Gear Corp., Waunakee, Wisc., celebrated its 40th anniversary this year with the opening of a newly-built high-bay racking warehouse at the company's European headquarters. Nord began producing gears, gear cases, shafts, and flanges in Bargteheide, Germany in 1965. They quickly expanded into electrical components, including drive electronics and motors. In addition to its European and American headquarters, Nord operates 26 production facilities worldwide, including two in the U.S.

Omron Electronics LLC, Schaumburg, Ill., named Allen Vail vice president of finance. His responsibilities include overseeing all financial activities of the company and advising executive management on business strategy development. He has held financial management positions for many years, most recently as vice president and chief financial officer at Madison One Holdings. Vail is a graduate of Pace University, and earned his MBA from Keller Graduate School of Business in Chicago.

Modbus-IDA, North Grafton, Mass., expanded its board of directors with the election of two new members, Serge Bassem, CEO of ACT'L sa, and Komal Mehta, senior product manager of Industrial Communications and Power Network Division of Harting Inc. The board now has eight members.

The Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) welcomed six new distributors to its membership roster: AR Thomson Group, Surrey, British Columbia, Canada; Carolina Belting Co., Taylors, S.C.; McCarty Equipment Co., Abilene, Texas; MEP Drives Ltd., Mississauga, Ontario, Canada; Norfolk Bearings Supply Co. Inc., Norfolk, Va.; and Reid Entities, Muskegon, Mich.
PTDA also welcomed five manufacturer members: Bonfiglioli USA, Hebron, Ky.; Jason Industrial Ltd., Dorval, Quebec, Canada; John Crane Power Transmission, Houston; The Ralphs-Pugh Co. Inc., Benica, Calif.; and SEW-Eurodrive Inc., Lyman, S.C.
