PLASTIC BEARING DESIGN CONTEST
igus.com/minimanus.asp

Mini manus, the Internet version of last year's hit design contest, will award three cash prizes — up to $500 — to the top plastic bearing design applications submitted online.

Explain why you chose a plastic bearing for your design and how it enhanced the application, and submit supporting photography. Judges will be looking for technical advancement and economic impact, as well as design innovation.

Previous winners:

  • Six Flags Theme Parks — used a plastic bearing in the revolutionary “X” Rollercoaster

  • Harriston Industries — replaced bronze bearings in the pick arm of a potato planter, reducing costs 75% and increasing lifetime by 500%

  • Nova Biomedical — used DryLin linear bearings and linear guide systems in a new immuno-assay instrument.
